Don’t be put off by the hour-long, jam-packed Vaporetto ride to get to the island of Burano — it’s totally worth it.
We arrived from nearby Murano, where we’d spent the earlier part of the day. I immediately liked Burano more and regretted having already eaten lunch when I spotted the adorable, pastel pink, Rivarosa restaurant.
It was a lovely afternoon on the island and we enjoyed strolling around picking out our favourite houses and people watching — especially as so many Instagrammers were climbing inside the locals’ doorways trying to get the perfect picture!
It was absolutely boiling hot, so we grabbed a table outside a bacari and spent the rest of the afternoon sipping Aperol Spritz in the shade — bliss.
When we got back to Venice, it was early evening. We had a quick shower and change before heading out to dinner as the sun was setting.
This was the best day of our Venice trip — so be sure to include Burano in your itinerary! Plan your visit here: www.isoladiburano.it/en
